You may have noticed that, for some totally random reason which is not yet clear to me, Typepad has decided that my archives pages should be all messed up. See what happens when go away for the weekend? Hopefully I will be able to sort this out tonight.
On the plus side, the weekend trip (which was 9 hours in the car each way) to balgonie to meet my sister's (recently acquired) fiance, resulted in a stack of homemade deer sausage courtesy of said brother-in-law-in-waiting, so expect a post on that soon.
I did, however, miss out on supper at Merv's Pitchfork Fondue. Damn. First I miss the coons & possums in Louisiana, now I miss the meat on a pitchfork.

I haven't had it in years, but my cousin provided us with enough killed-it-herself venison sausage to make a venison ragout for our wedding reception! It was a pretty big hit, and Matt loved it.

Too bad you missed out on the pitchfork fondue -- one of the provincial librarians' conferences I helped organize had a pitchfork fondue instead of a banquet one year -- it was an outfit out of Moose Jaw that catered it, not sure it was Merv. The pitchforks are clean and they spear a lovely steak on it and plunge it into boiiing oil in a metal container that resembles a 45 gallon drum, heated from the bottom by a fiece propane flame(s). Took about 60 seconds for medium rare, and was delicious.
(I've known Lyn for a long time, but don't usually comment on her blog!!)
