This recipe looks great. I just bought some lavender sugar, so I was looking for a recipe for cupcakes I could make to sprinkle with some of the sugar.

Rosa

That layer cake looks gorgeous! Lemon is always a great choice when baking and that lavender icing must taste wonderful...

This sounds scrumptious. As for the sponge pudding--isn't it cool when people all over the world fall in love with an old family recipe? Sharing these treats is one of the best benefits of blogging.

Mercedes

This looks divine, with all that butter the frosting must be delicious!

connie

the icing is soooo fluffy! it looks amazing

Alana

mmm...I love citrus cake. My grandma used to make an amazing lemon-poppy seed version that I loved.

Monika Korngut

What a great recipe.

With spring on the way, I also feel like the crisp acidity of citric fruits is refreshing and exactly what I need.

Sandi

if I were to make those into cupcakes...how long would I have to put them in the oven for?

Linda, The Village Vegetable

i've never craved sweets in the morning.... until i saw this cake. wow -- it really looks tasty. i adore vanilla and citrus. creamsicles are my fav!

Randi

Does cakes really live in the cupboard? Must be crowded in there!! LOLOLOLOL

lyn

Sandi - not sure how long. I'd probably start testing with a tothpick after about 12 minutes.

Randi - I totally didn't even think about that when I was writing. Too funny!

Mr. Green

Lex If you don't mind me asking, how much do you weight?

lyn

Mr. Green. A very good question. More than I'd like to, but less than I'd expect from someone who can scarf down a half a cake over the course of one afternoon. I do walk a lot and yoga and when I'm not with child I run a bit too.

At the moment I'm also 9 months pregnant, so I'm going to allow myself some slack.
